On 12/29/2018 I was having lunch with friends when one of them said, let’s go look at cats! I had procured a letter for an emotional support animal from my therapist, but was waiting for a bit before actually getting one, but my friend insisted. I Googled the Familiar Spell from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, incanted it, and off we went. We went to a few places and the last stop was CAT. There I walked by this little kitty, eyes wide, and a look of trauma that I recognized. Despite a rough time in the visiting room, I knew, and I said to the volunteer, “What are next steps?” It was New Years Special days and her adoption fee was $20.18, now a very special number and year!
It’s 02/21/23, Miss Kitty Fantástico is now 5 years old, 4 of them with me. She has taught me so much about love, patience, and joy. She’s my Lil’ Mama! She has helped me in so many ways, especially with my mental health. She is mine and I am her familiar.
I am so grateful to CAT; they saved her from a shelter in Idaho and brought her to me. Happy 25th anniversary Cat Adoption Team! May your coffers be overflowing, your staff and volunteers be blessed with happiness and joy, and all the little special kitties that come to you find safe loving homes to live happy lives in!
