In 2007, my husband John and I adopted a kitty from CAT, and John later became become an Adoption Counselor. Fast forward to 2011: a neighbor’s cat, Gracie, became pregnant for the second time and the neighbor made threatening remarks about her safety. John and I arranged to take her in and have the kittens born into our care and CAT agreed to bring her into the foster system. Thus our fostering journey began.
The kittens thrived and were quickly adopted (and I held that neighbor to his promise to make a generous contribution to CAT). Gracie, a beautiful, friendly grey lady, was overlooked even after being placed offsite! Whenever I visited her, she would leap into my arms. I nearly cried when she was adopted after 8 months.
Since that first litter, I have had the great reward of fostering nearly 200 kitties, two of which became my current resident cats.
