I found Cat Adoption Team in 2011 when searching for a new furry family member after losing a kitten to a rare disorder. I met Djinn (who we renamed Rex) being lovingly cared for in a CAT foster home. The foster mom was warm and welcoming and answered all of my questions with patience, knowledge, and grace. I scheduled my adoption counseling at a PetSmart near my home. We conducted the adoption counseling and paperwork inside the PetSmart kitty room where I met a great adult cat named Cheerios who was also looking for a home. The adoption counselor spent plenty of time with me, educating me on the nuances of adopting a kitten and helping me determine whether the adult cat at PetSmart and my new kitten would be a good fit for each other and my home. I adopted Rex and Cheerios (renamed Lyla) and brought them home within a week of each other. The adoption experience was so positive that I asked about becoming a volunteer with CAT soon after bringing these wonderful cats home. Volunteering at CAT was the most rewarding experience! The staff and volunteers I’ve met here bring joy and gratitude to their work. I love to share the story of CAT’s amazing programs and culture everywhere I go!
