Being an adoption counselor I have many favorite adoption stories. This goes from adopting out the 3 black kittens together (Crash, Cody, and Remington) two were adopted one day and the family had to have the 3rd the next day, to my very first direct foster adoption Piglet. But the very best story is of my cat Alfie. I was picking up kitties that needed to be taken to our offsite location Petco. While there, my kid and I looked into the kitten room just to get our fix. While there, a kitten just grabbed our attention. He was goofy, and literally grabbed my kid, Atlas. I did the mom thing and said no, we had enough cats, and that he would make a fine match to another family. We left. My kiddo was heartbroken. I told them that if he was still there in the afternoon the next day, it was meant to be. We wouldn’t you know, he was there. He worked his magic on Atlas and one thing lead to another, and he was ours. From the moment he was home, he switched gears and became mine. He sleeps with me EVERY NIGHT, makes sure to know where I am at home, and has become just the best foster brother to the kittens we take care of. I am so grateful for CAT enriching our lives and giving us the best little friend a gal can have.
