A PAW Team client reached out for help for his beloved cat Boots, who was reportedly struggling with an upper respiratory infection and crusted, goopy eyes, that he could barely keep open.
When Boots visit PAT Team’s clinic, they realized he was suffering from entropion, a condition where the eyelids fold inward causing eyelashes to rub against the eyeball, leading to irritation of the cornea and chronic infections. The only solution for entropion is surgery to correct placement of the eyelids. While they could treat the effects of entropion, PAW Team is not equipped to perform surgery, and relies on community partnerships to coordinate care needed beyond their walls.
Thankfully, Cat Adoption Team is one of those partners. PAW Team reached out to us, and we were able to step in and provide this life-changing procedure free of charge through our Keeping Cats in Homes fund!
Over the past two months, our teams worked together to coordinate getting Boots the care he desperately needed, including pre- and post-surgical visits at PAW Team – all with transportation provided by CAT staff and PAW Team volunteers.
It took teamwork, but Boots is on the road to recovery.
Cat Adoption Team and PAW Team are both featured in Willamette Week’s Give!Guide 2024. Please consider making a life-changing donation today.
