Cat Adoption Team Participating in Purina’s Petivity ‘Press To Feed’ Launch Event at Grand Central Terminal
Pacific Northwest’s largest cat-only shelter pairs with Nestlé Purina to feed adoptable felines in real-time from New York City.
SHERWOOD, OR — October 2, 2026 — Cat Adoption Team (CAT) announced today that it has been selected as one of only three animal welfare organizations nationwide to participate in the upcoming product launch event for Petivity, powered by Purina.
Taking place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the interactive “Press to Feed” experiential event will celebrate the official launch of the Petivity Smart Feeder for Cats. Nestlé Purina is inviting commuters and cat lovers in New York City to experience the new technology firsthand at Grand Central Terminal, bridging the physical distance between tech enthusiasts in Manhattan and adoptable cats in Oregon.
The ‘Press to Feed’ Experience Details:
- When: Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT
- Where: Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Terminal, New York, NY
- How It Works: Passersby in Grand Central Terminal can press a massive, interactive red button. Each press triggers a remotely connected Petivity Smart Feeder situated at one of the three shelters including Cat Adoption Team’s shelter in Sherwood, instantly dispensing a fresh meal to a real, adoptable cat.
- Live Feed: New York City participants will watch the immediate impact of their actions via a real-time, live-stream broadcast displayed on a massive screen inside Vanderbilt Hall.

Every button pressed in New York directly treats a cat in our care here in Oregon, emphasizing the global community required to support shelter animals.”
Cat Adoption Team is participating alongside two other prominent U.S. rescues: the Atlanta Humane Society (Atlanta, GA) and the Tree House Humane Society (Chicago, IL).
