Cat Adoption Team Awarded $5,250 Orphan Kitten Club Grant
Sherwood, OR – May 29, 2025 – Cat Adoption Team is excited to announce that it was awarded a $5,250 innovation grant from Orphan Kitten Club (OKC), a national nonprofit organization with a mission to innovate pediatric care and advance protections for neonatal kittens in shelters. This innovation grant funded two incubators and three lockboxes to help increase capacity for 0-4 week olds, doubling our lifesaving for this population.
The incubators have been instrumental in allowing us to take in more fragile kittens that need to be kept safe and warm while awaiting a foster family and have increased accessibility to food, medications, and other supplies that are vitally important for our foster parents taking care of neonatal kittens by installing three lockboxes at various centralized locations. Our goal was to decrease one of the primary barriers that prevents potential fosters from being able to take in neonatal kittens.
