(June 15, 2023) – One of the largest pet adoptions events to hit the Portland metro area, Kitten Palooza at Cat Adoption Team (CAT) aims to match more than 100 adoptable kittens with loving new homes.
Kittens of all ages, colors, and purr-sonalities will be looking for love during this special, one-day adoption event. Many of these kittens are in foster homes right now. Others are coming to CAT from animal shelters and rescue groups across Oregon and the region.
“More cats are breeding right now than at any other time of the year and area shelters are filling up fast,” says Karen Green, executive director of CAT. “There’s no better time to adopt a kitten and help make room for shelters to take in more cats and kittens in need.”
Kitten Palooza is free to attend, but visitors will need an appointment. CAT will begin accepting applications to attend the event on Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. The adoption event itself will be held at CAT’s Sherwood shelter on the following Saturday, June 24. Adoption fees for kittens are $225, and adopters receive a $20 discount when adopting two kittens at once. All kittens will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Adopters receive a starter bag of kitten food, feline care booklet, and certificate for a free veterinary exam. The first 80 adopters at the event also will receive a goodie bag filled with kitten toys and other great giveaways.
