SHERWOOD, OR (June 17, 2020) – The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is moving its popular Kitten Palooza adoption event online this year. Despite the pandemic, CAT hopes to help more than 50 homeless kittens and cats find new families during the event.

This annual adoption event is normally held the last Saturday in June at CAT’s Sherwood, Ore.-based shelter. This year, Kitten Palooza adoptions will take place virtually on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27. On Sunday, June 28, adopters will come to the shelter to pick up their new pets during the first-ever drive-thru Kitten Palooza Pick-up Parade.

Kitten Palooza has its own event website (event.adopets.com/kittenpalooza) featuring profiles of the kittens and cats for adoption. Those hoping to adopt can visit the event site to browse the profiles and submit adoption applications online. New kittens will be added to the site hourly from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on June 26 and on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each kitten’s online profile will include a bio, photos and video, and an adoption button. On the event website, potential adopters can apply for the specific kitty that interests them. Once approved, CAT will invite adopters to a virtual appointment to finalize the adoption and schedule a pick-up time.

“Kitten Palooza is always popular,” says Green. “Even online, we expect this event to draw a big crowd, and we ask our community for their patience, support, and flexibility as we work with this all-new format.”

Kitten Palooza 2020 is sponsored by Petco Foundation and Purina. For more details about the event, visit catadoptionteam.org/palooza.
