Enrichment isn’t just for shelter cats! Here are a few easy ways to provide enrichment to your cat at home.

•Let your cat exercise her prey drive by using toys (like the Da Bird toy, which you can purchase from CAT’s retail store) that simulate hunting

•Give your cat’s brain a workout by training her to do a simple trick like “sit” or “roll over.” You can search the web for tips on clicker training

•Install a bird or squirrel feeder outside a window where your cat can watch critters come and go

•Make a fort out of differently sized cardboard boxes and tubes for your cat to climb through and explore. This fun family craft will exercise your creativity, as well as your cat’s

•Make simple, inexpensive do-it-yourself toys to give your cat something new to investigate (see our Pinterest board for DIY tips and ideas)

•Leave the nature channel on while you’re out for the day to give your cat something interesting to hear and watch
