CAT is looking for a part-time (15-20 hours/week) certified veterinary technician to join our hospital team! We are a full-service clinic with a large OR and labwork/radiographic capabilities, and we pride ourselves on providing high-quality medicine and surgery.
Duties include providing medical treatment to cats in our care; creating and maintaining computerized medical records; anesthetic induction, intubation, and assisting with high-volume surgeries and recovery; providing client education; performing physical exams; cleaning of surgical instruments, equipment, and kennels; and other duties to help further our mission of adopting healthy, happy cats and kittens into new homes!
Applicants must have current Oregon veterinary technician certification. Previous shelter or veterinary experience is required. This is a fast-paced environment, so good time management skills are essential!
CAT is looking for an experienced veterinarian to lead our full-service, onsite veterinary hospital. Qualified candidates will have a background and/or training in shelter medicine; proficiency in high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter surgery, including pediatrics; excellent communication skills; and a passion for helping cats. Approx. 30 hours per week; includes benefits.
Job responsibilities include: provide excellent medical care for shelter cats and foster kittens; perform spay/neuter surgeries on shelter and public animals (through our low-income spay/neuter programs); ensure continuity and consistency of care for sick and injured cats; keep records in accordance with CAT guidelines and legal requirements; assist in the review and refinement of medical protocols; cover two to three after-hours on-call shifts each week; create, lead and participate in staff CE; maintain relationship/communication with other practicing veterinarians; maintain membership in appropriate professional organizations; ensure CAT is following best practices; work collaboratively with the Hospital Manager and all staff and volunteers to facilitate the highest quality of care and a positive, trust-based culture; promote and act in accordance with CAT’s core values and toward achievement of CAT’s strategic goals.
