Love cats? Have interest or experience in veterinary care? Great with people? Enjoy working on a team? Then we might be the right fit!

The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is hiring a veterinary assistant to help provide high-quality medical care for our cats. We perform spay/neuter surgeries for nearly 3,000 cats each year and pride ourselves on providing needed medical services for all the cats and kittens that pass through our shelter.

CAT promotes an environment of integrity and values transparency, and we are looking for someone who is prepared to lead in a positive workplace culture. CAT encourages respect among all employees, volunteers, donors, guests, and others with whom we work in the community. The right individual will bring a compassion for and experience working with cats, as well as a history of working professionally and respectfully with people. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including multitasking and problem-solving skills. The veterinary assistant should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

The veterinary assistant is a non-exempt, regular, full-time position eligible for CAT’s full benefits package (subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each benefits program). Employee benefits include health and dental insurance options, accrued PTO, seven paid holidays per year, and 403b retirement plan. Team members are also eligible for discounts on CAT hospital, retail, and Thrift Store purchases.

Attending an information session is required in order to apply for this position. Please bring your resume and cover letter with three personal references to the session; do not send application materials in advance.
