CAT is looking for a part-time certified veterinary technician to join our hospital team! We are a full-service veterinary hospital that offers quality, compassionate care to our feline friends.
Duties include providing medical treatment to cats in our care; creating and maintaining computerized medical records; anesthetic induction, intubation, and assisting with high-volume surgeries and recovery; providing client education; performing physical exams; venipuncture; IV catheter placement; cleaning of surgical instruments, equipment, and kennels; and other duties to help further our mission of adopting healthy, happy cats and kittens into new homes!
Applicants must have current Oregon veterinary technician certification. Previous shelter or veterinary clinic experience is strongly preferred. This is a fast-paced environment, so good time management skills are essential!
CAT is hiring a veterinary assistant to help provide high quality medical care for our cats. We perform spay/neuter surgeries for over 2500 cats each year and pride ourselves on providing needed medical services for all the cats and kittens that pass through our shelter.

Duties include high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery including pediatric, in-heat, or pregnant cats; perform additional surgeries as needed (including but not limited to enucleation, limb amputation, esophageal feeding tube placement, or mass removal); provide medical diagnosis and treatment to cats in our care; provide dental services including advanced dental extractions with nerve blocks; create and maintain computerized medical records; work as a team player in a fast-paced environment; and other duties to help further our mission of adopting healthy, happy cats and kittens into new homes! Applicants must have a current veterinary license from the state of Oregon and will need to maintain professional liability insurance. Previous shelter or veterinary clinic experience is strongly preferred.
CAT is currently looking to fill a part-time to full-time shelter associate position at our Sherwood shelter.
The Shelter Associate is both an animal care and retail position responsible for caring for our cats and interacting professionally with the public. Depending on the assigned shift, the shelter associate may work as a cat caregiver/adoption counselor or staff the reception/retail desk. Tasks include maintaining cleanliness of animal kennels and free roam rooms, feeding cats and kittens, assisting the public (including adopters, clients, foster families, and volunteers), answering phones, scheduling hospital appointments, and working the register. The person in this position also will perform janitorial duties and maintain general shelter cleanliness. Depending on the assigned shift (shelter or reception), the shelter associate will spend roughly 30% of the time taking care of the cats and kittens in the shelter, roughly 20% of the time performing janitorial duties, and roughly 50% of the time helping the public either at the shelter or over the phone. This position works with all staff members and volunteers to help CAT succeed in its mission of adopting out healthy cats and kittens to loving homes.
