Year in review: 2013

Adoption:

  • 2,291 total cat/kitten adoptions
  • 16% of adoptions took place at our offsite adoption centers
  • 56% of adoptions were kittens (< 1 year old)
  • 44% of adoptions were adult cats (age 1 year and above)
  • 31,897 total adoptions since founding in 1998 (through December 31, 2013)

Intake:

  • 2,312 cats/kittens from other shelters and the public
  • 84% of these felines came from other shelters, of which 56% transferred from public shelters in Multnomah County and Washington County
  • 16% of incoming felines came from the public

Kitten Foster:

  • 804 kittens and mama cats fostered
  • 734 kittens and 70 mama cats were fostered
  • 90 families opened their homes to foster

Spay/Neuter:

  • 3,074 total surgeries
  • 41% were low-cost/subsidized Spay & Save surgeries
  • 14% were low-cost surgeries through the use of the Oregon Spay/Neuter Fund coupon

Volunteerism:

  • 429 total active volunteers touching all aspects of CAT’s operations
  • Over 44,500 hours of service donated, the equivalent of 22 full-time employees
  • 6 offsite adoption centers staffed and run by 115 volunteers
  • 90 active foster families

Donation Programs:

  • 512 donors supported CAT through the Willamette Week Give!Guide year-end program
  • 214 supporters attended Whisker Wonderland, CAT’s premiere fundraising auction and gala
